Christ’s Death for Our Sins

Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies.”

John 11:25

Why Must Christ Die?

They serve at a sanctuary that is a copy and shadow of what is in heaven. This is why Moses was warned when he was about to build the tabernacle: “See to it that you make everything according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.” Hebrews 8:5

...the Lamb that was slain from the creation of the world. Revelation 13:8

God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in his blood. He did this to demonstrate his justice, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished. Romans 3:25

He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.

The Perfect Sacrifice

Hebrews 9:1-14

It is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins. Hebrews 10:3-4

I. The Old Sacrifice
